Welcome,
The past year has seen a marked increase in interest -- both inside and outside of SIS -- in forums, web sites, and other industry-related content. Consider, for example, the SIS Web Site and User Forums. The web site readership numbers are impressive: more than 150 thousand impressions this year and about 15 thousand distinct visitors with more and more users finding themselves in the Forums each day.

Therefore, as of this issue, we will be moving in a new direction with the ALARM CENTER® Newsletter as we increase our focus on the IT needs of the industry. If you know of an online resource you think other industry professionals might value, send it along. We'll try to feature the best resources in future issues.
Enjoy the issue,
The SIS Staff

More than 8,000 dedicated security professionals made their way to ISC East in New York Aug. 24-25, while another 19,000+ took in the ASIS Int’l Expo in Orlando, Fla., Sept. 12-15.
Al Colombo and Bob Dolph (from Security Sales & Integration) spent the ensuing weeks sorting and reviewing their notes, press materials and spec sheets to distill it all down to a tidy 15 devices apiece. These are the ones they believe offer the greatest opportunities to installing dealers and systems integrators.
Not only was ALARM CENTER® in the top 30, it was also the only software product to make the list. Every day more and more industry professionals discover that SIS has a product suite and support team that just can't be beat.
See who else made the list.

When customers depend on you to monitor their alarms, your ability to do so in any situation is crucial for your business and possibly even the lives of your customers. Are you prepared in the event that you suffer a system crash? This brings up the importance of back-ups.
Having a recent backup of your data could mean the difference between being back on-line in a matter of minutes or in hours, perhaps even days. Implementing a standard routine for back-ups provides you with a better chance of quick data recovery, redundancy, and minimal down-time. If you are concerned with these issues, then SIS has developed and designed a program just for you, SyncAgent™. SyncAgent™ is also the ideal companion to our UL certified Server Failover Module, providing a seamless, easy to use, redundant system.
